Winter Warmers

Taste of Tourism, a great event that took place a week ago at The Squalicum Boathouse thanks to the hospitality of Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism and the participation of some of the best restaurants, wineries and casinos in Whatcom County.   Great turnout and a delicious tour of some of the best food, wine and beer in this beautiful corner of Northwest WA.

In a fun atmosphere and with a rather healthy appetite we were able to visit with several of our friends and enjoyed great food and beverages.  Among all the great dishes and appetizers, I found two meals that promise to be the stars of the fall and winter season. As you get your winter coats out of the closet (and I hope you already have) make a stop at these restaurants and try their delicious meals

– African Peanut Soup from Colophon Café
– Tomato Bisque Soup from Poppe’s 360

They were simply delicious and perfect for this cool weather. I’m also fond of Colophon Café’s Veggie Burger and Poppe’s 360 Smoky Chicken Quesadillas, but when it comes to winter warmers, African Peanut Soup and Tomato Bisque Soup are my preferred choice. With all the upcoming shopping and home decoration that needs to be done, a hot bowl of tasty soup just sounds great.

Enjoy !!!
